7/17/2024 – The European Chess Union and the Montenegro Chess Federation are inviting all National Chess Federations and eligible players to participate in the European Individual Chess Championship 2024, to be held from 7-20 November in Petrovac, Montenegro. The European Individual Chess Championship 2024 is a qualifying event for the FIDE World Cup 2025. According to the FIDE regulations for the World Cup and the ECU Board decision, 20 players will qualify.
The championship will be played in 11 rounds, Swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.
The total prize fund of the event is 100,000 Euros, with 20,000 Euro going to the winner of the Championship.
