Ibero-American Championship: Alan Pichot captures title

10/3/2024 – The tenth edition of the Ibero-American Chess Championship came to a close on Tuesday at the Hotel RL Aníbal in Linares, Spain. Alan Pichot, the Argentine-born GM now representing Spain, was the sole winner after obtaining 7½/9 points. IM Daniel García from Spain and GM Santiago Ávila from Colombia grabbed second and third place, respectively. IM Sabrina Vega, an 8-time women's Spanish champion, was the top scorer among the women participants, while IM Diego Flores from Perú finished first among the juniors.
